SUMMARY:Community Projects: Cosplay Making (Q3)
DESCRIPTION:Cosplay Making is a members-only, mentoring and collaborative Community Projects cohort where participants design, build, and refine cosplay pieces for costumes, characters, and creative expression. Participants work on their own cosplay projects while learning from mentors and collaborating with other makers who bring different skills, ideas, and techniques to the table.\nThis cohort is intentionally project-driven and exploratory. Some participants may be just getting started with cosplay, while others may be refining armor, props, accessories, or costume elements. Many participants choose to work toward costumes or props for Halloween, while others focus on conventions, showcases, or personal creative goals. All approaches are welcome.\nWhat to expect:\n\nMentoring support across a variety of cosplay techniques\nExploration of tools and processes such as 3D printing, laser cutting, foam work, finishing, and assembly\nGuidance on patterning, scaling, and fit\nProblem-solving and iteration as builds progress\nA collaborative, encouraging environment for creativity and experimentation\n\nParticipants are encouraged to bring ideas, references, or in-progress builds, whether they’re preparing for Halloween, a specific event, or simply building for fun and skill development. Projects and pacing are shaped by participant goals.\nThis cohort is ideal for makers interested in costume design, prop making, fabrication, and creative craftsmanship—and for anyone who enjoys building things that blend art, engineering, and storytelling.\nSigning-up helps us plan.\n
