SUMMARY:Entrepreneurship: Prototyping & Testing (Q3)
DESCRIPTION:Optimizing Product Batches is a members-only, mentoring-style Entrepreneurship cohort focused on improving how products are produced in small batches. Participants work on their own product ideas or existing offerings while collaborating with mentors and peers to refine workflows, reduce friction, and make batch production more efficient and repeatable.\nThis cohort is ideal for makers who already have a product—or a prototype that’s close—and want to move from “one-off” builds to consistent, scalable batches. The focus is on practical decisions: materials, tooling, setup time, finishing, quality control, and where effort is best spent.\nRather than following a fixed curriculum, learning is driven by real production challenges and shared problem-solving across the group.\nWhat to expect:\n\nEvaluating products for batch-friendly design\nImproving workflows for repeatability and consistency\nReducing setup time and production bottlenecks\nExploring jigs, fixtures, templates, and process improvements\nBalancing quality, time, and cost tradeoffs\nMentoring support and peer feedback throughout the process\n\nParticipants should expect to cover the cost of materials used for their individual products or batches. Projects may involve laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC, assembly, finishing, packaging, or a combination of tools and techniques.\nThis cohort is a great fit for makers, entrepreneurs, and small-batch producers who want to produce smarter—not just more—and turn making into something sustainable.\nSigning-up helps us plan.\n
