Internet of Things Workshop
Get started into the Internet of Things (IoT)! IoT refers to a network of physical devices, vehicles, appliances, and other physical objects that are embedded with sensors, software, and network connectivity, allowing them to collect and share data. IoT encompasses electronics, communication, and computer science engineering.
Students in this workshop will learn the basic features of a microcontroller, the types of devices it can control and how when it is connected to the internet it can be more than the sum of its parts. Students will also learn how to program the microcontrollers with MicroPython. Participants will take home the kit they are given in the workshop which has other options for continuing learning.
The workshop is from 9am-3pm each day.
Students are encouraged to bring their own laptop to set up their configuration environment to use the kit for additional projects at home.
