Resin 3D Printing

This introductory equipment training covers the fundamentals of resin 3D printing and the safe, proper use of our resin printers. Participants will learn what resin printing is best suited for, what materials and supplies are used, and the overall workflow from print setup through post-processing.

Topics include:

  • What resin 3D printing is and when it’s the right tool
  • Overview of available resins and their properties
  • Safety requirements, PPE, and handling best practices
  • Basic file preparation and printer setup
  • Printing, washing, and curing workflows
  • Proper cleanup, waste handling, and shared-space expectations

Due to time constraints, not all processing steps may be completed during this session. To ensure participants see and understand the full end-to-end process, the lead mentor will work to schedule post-processing steps during the next available Open Hours when they are present.

Completion of this training is required for members before using resin 3D printers independently during makerspace access hours.

No prior resin printing experience is required. Due to the nature of resin materials, this training places strong emphasis on safety and proper procedures.
