Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship Through Making
Entrepreneurship at Monumental Impact is hands-on, practical, and rooted in learning by doing. Members can explore ideas, develop products and services, build and test prototypes, gain real-world feedback, and develop the skills and confidence to take their ideas further.
Our Entrepreneurship Program combines access to makerspace equipment, technology, mentorship, collaborative projects, and real-world opportunities to help members move from ideas to making, testing, delivering, and growing.
Whether you’re interested in developing a product, contributing to a Monumental Impact project, building your portfolio, exploring entrepreneurship, or growing an independent business, there are multiple ways to participate.
Explore the Entrepreneurship Program
Our Entrepreneurship Program provides three interconnected ways for members to learn, create, and put their skills into practice.
Track 1: Learn & Create
Develop skills through real projects.
Internships, cohorts, project teams, and other Monumental Impact activities give participants opportunities to learn by developing real products, services, projects, and events.
Members may participate in Made @ Monumental Impact, where products, services, projects, and events are owned and delivered by Monumental Impact while participants gain experience in areas such as design, prototyping, testing, production, marketing, event delivery, and customer feedback.

Track 2: Create & Grow
Develop your own ideas, products, services, and business.
Members can use Monumental Impact’s makerspace, equipment, training, mentoring, cohorts, and community resources to develop their own projects and explore entrepreneurship.
This might include:
- Exploring product or service ideas
- Building and testing prototypes
- Improving designs through feedback and iteration
- Learning materials, processes, and production techniques
- Developing a portfolio or independent business
- Learning how to price, present, market, and deliver an offering
Member-owned products, services, and businesses remain independently owned and operated by the member. Members pursuing their own projects generally provide or cover the cost of materials used for their individual work.
Track 3: Showcase & Test
Take what you’re creating into the real world.
Members may have opportunities to showcase and test their work through Maker Showcases, Monumental Impact events, community events, pop-ups, retail partner displays, and our online Maker Directory.
These experiences provide opportunities to gather feedback, understand customers, test presentation and messaging, improve products and services, and build confidence communicating what you’ve created.

From Idea to Real-World Experience
Entrepreneurship begins with curiosity and develops through iteration.
At Monumental Impact, the process can extend well beyond creating the first prototype:
Explore → Design → Prototype → Test → Produce → Go to Market → Deliver → Evaluate
Not every idea needs to become a business or even a finished product. The goal is to provide opportunities to learn through the process, develop practical skills, and discover where an idea—or your own interests and abilities—might lead.
Community & Mentorship
Entrepreneurship doesn’t happen in isolation.
Members benefit from a shared makerspace environment that encourages collaboration, informal mentorship from experienced makers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and professionals, and peer feedback across generations and experience levels.
This community-driven model helps members learn faster, solve problems together, develop confidence, and build connections with others who are creating and exploring.
Who This Is For
Entrepreneurship at Monumental Impact is for members interested in learning by creating—including students developing career-readiness skills, adults exploring personal projects or new ventures, entrepreneurs developing products or services, professionals sharing or expanding their skills, and seniors interested in purposeful, creative engagement.
No prior entrepreneurship experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn, create, test, and improve.
