This equipment training introduces the use of the rotary attachment with our laser cutter for engraving cylindrical and round objects such as cups, bottles, and tubes. Participants will learn when and how to use the rotary attachment, how it differs from flat-bed laser work, and the additional setup steps required for safe and accurate operation.
Topics include:
- What the rotary attachment is and what types of projects it supports
- Approved materials and object types for rotary laser work
- Safety considerations specific to rotary operation
- Setting up and installing the rotary attachment
- Adjusting artwork and job settings for cylindrical objects
- Running, monitoring, and finishing a rotary laser job
- Cleanup and care expectations for shared equipment
Completion of Laser Cutter Equipment Training (Intro) is required before attending this session. This training is required for members before using the rotary attachment independently during makerspace access hours.
This session is designed for members who already have basic laser cutter experience and want to expand the types of projects they can create.
