Service Development & Delivery

Summary

Designs, developments and delivers our services to customers. Identifies improvements and iterates to improve the customer experience of the service provided. Examples of past service offerings have been:

  • Make It Work Clinics for 3D Printers;
  • Soldering classes within Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD);
  • Website / Software Implementations;
  • An Escape Room;
  • Delivering an Internet of Things with Artificial Intelligence(AI) implementation for a partner;
  • AI Artwork for an exhibit at WMMI;
  • Robot part fabrications for FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Competition Teams;
  • LEGO Robotics Camps for Beginners or Advanced;
  • Python or Java Coding Camps.

Available Business Days & Hours
Delivery days/times for customer projects varies. We do work in Sprints and may schedule a focused meeting to complete many tasks on a topic. Meet in the evenings or Saturdays during school year.

Minimum Commitment: 60 hours under our internships

Wage: Unpaid

Minimum Age Level: 14 years old

Formal Hard Skill Training or Certificate Attainment
Successful completion may lead to elective course credit. Check with your school counselor.

Educational Requirements
Open, but prefer students interested in technology, engineering and entrepreneurial events.

Occupational Requirements
Orientation & Safety session will be provided.

Dress Code
Basic shop safety when in machine rooms and when robots are on:

  • Safety glasses at all times.
  • No open-toed shoes / crocs.
  • Tie back long hair.
  • No loose clothing (hoodie strings, overly loose sleeves, etc.) that could get caught in a spindle.

Training Description

  • Projects range from delivering a technology implementation to offering training or a service to community members in a technology area. (Projects available will be discussed during onboarding session.)
  • Plan, collaborate and learn as a team what is needed to deliver a service.
  • Plan and coordinate resources needed.
  • Connect with and collaborate with other teams.

Training Setting

Office environment within a student / mentor makerspace. Customer site may vary from a manufacturing facility, public facility or office environment. Events may be inside or outside. Events may be in a gym or at a booth at a conference, street faire, craft fair, etc.
