Volunteer with Monumental Impact

Monumental Impact is a community makerspace and nonprofit based in Palmer Lake (Tri-Lakes area), north of Colorado Springs.
We rely on dedicated volunteers to help deliver hands-on learning, career readiness experiences, events, and makerspace access for students and community members of all ages.

We’re currently recruiting volunteers for leadership, liaison, and hands-on support roles across our programs and operations.

Whether you’re ready to take on a lead role or want to start by supporting projects or Open Hours, we’d love to connect.

Current Volunteer Opportunities – Leadership & Liaison Roles

We are actively recruiting volunteers for the following lead roles, which help guide teams, programs, and operations:

  • Marketing & Communications Coordinator 📣
  • Event Planning Coordinator🎉
  • Community Member Liaison 🤝
  • Makerspace Services Lead 🛠
  • Member Programs Lead
  • Facility & IT Access Liaison 🔧

These roles are posted on VolunteerMatch, but we also welcome direct conversations and visits.

Additional Ways to Volunteer

In addition to the lead roles above, we’re also looking for volunteers interested in:

🧩 Project Leads & Contributors

Lead or support short-term or ongoing projects such as product development, documentation, process improvements, or special initiatives.

🕒 Open Hours Support

Help host and support Open Hours by welcoming members, assisting with equipment use, and ensuring a safe, productive makerspace environment.

🧠 Mentors

Share experience and guidance with students, interns, and community members in areas such as engineering, making, entrepreneurship, project planning, and career pathways.

🤖 Program & Competition Support

Support programs like entrepreneurship initiatives, FTC robotics, combat robotics, workshops, and community projects.

You don’t need to have everything figured out — we’ll help match your interests, experience, and availability to the right opportunities.

Time Commitment & Flexibility

Volunteer involvement can range from:

  • 3–15 hours per week, or
  • Project-based or event-based, depending on the role

We work with volunteers to find a level of involvement that fits their schedule.

Background Check Requirement

To help maintain a safe, welcoming, and trusted environment, all volunteer roles at Monumental Impact require a background check.

As a nonprofit organization, volunteers age 21 and over are asked to cover the cost of their background check. Monumental Impact coordinates the process and provides instructions before anything is finalized.
