Event Planning & Delivery

Summary

Work with team members across groups to deliver events hosted via Monumental Impact on behalf of programs. Works with team members to plan, market, manage registrations, organize and deliver events. Some events are with external customers and some are internal for programs.

Available Business Days & Hours
Varies. Remote work is potential if able to meet in-person up once every month with team members in the evening or Saturdays. Must be onsite on an event day to manage, coordinate & deliver.

Minimum Commitment: 60 hours under our internships

Wage: Unpaid

Minimum Age Level: 14 years old

Formal Hard Skill Training or Certificate Attainment
Successful completion may lead to elective course credit. Check with your school counselor.

Educational Requirements
Open, but prefer students interested in technology, engineering and entrepreneurial events.

Occupational Requirements
Orientation & Safety session will be provided.

Dress Code
Basic shop safety when in machine rooms and when robots are on:

  • Safety glasses at all times.
  • No open-toed shoes / crocs.
  • Tie back long hair.
  • No loose clothing (hoodie strings, overly loose sleeves, etc.) that could get caught in a spindle.

Training Description

  • Consult with our internal teams and customers to determine objectives and requirements for events.
  • Coordinate and arrange availability of services for events, such as accommodation, transportation, equipment, displays, tables, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing, event safety and other event needs.
  • Inspect event facilities to ensure that they conform to requirements.
  • Lead the delivery of the event for customers and the coordination of volunteers.

Training Setting

Office environment within a student / mentor makerspace. Events may be inside or outside. Events may be in a gym or at a booth at a conference, street faire, craft fair, etc.
