We’re excited to have you join our community of innovators, makers, and mentors! Whether you’re here as a member, intern, or volunteer, this guide will help you get started.

Step 1: Visit or Attend a Community Event

Orientations, Networking Events and Maker Showcases are open to guests. Check out our Community Events to see what meets your fancy to attend.

Or if you would like to meet with a Monumental Impact team representative to explore your interests, opportunities for involvement and identify the option for you, feel free to request a visit or drop in during our Open Hours.

Step 2: Attend an Orientation

Each month we offer an Orientation to share how our programs work, provide a tour and onboard our new members. Guests are welcome to attend an orientation and listen in on overview of how programs work for our community members.

Step 3: Join Our Community

Whether as a paying member, a volunteer, intern or a team member everyone joins our community through the same form and orientation process. Some components of joining our community are:

  • If you haven’t figured it out yet, we are not a classroom, but a community that used shared equipment and tools. We recommend you review our Code of Conduct to get the gist.
  • With all the equipment in our makerspace and the openness to use after training, you will be asked to review & agree to our Waiver and Release.
  • When joining as a community member, you need to review and agree to our Member Agreement
  • With member programs for high school and college students, adults are required to complete a background check.
  • If a Student Member or Maker Member your confirmation email will have guidance on how to pay for your membership. When submitting your request to join, you are not forced to pay at the time of submission in case you would like to attend an orientation first.
  • High school students, college students, interns, volunteers and / or team members should include a Cover Letter and Resume when they join.

Step 4. Get Connected

Once you have joined and attended an orientation, plug into quarterly programs by signing up for community events, makerspace services and cohorts to connect with others and get projects going!
