Community Projects: Art and Technology (Q2)

Art and Technology is a new Community Projects cohort for the 2nd Quarter and kicks off on Wednesday, April 1 at 11:00am.

This meetup is an open meeting for anyone interested in learning more about how technology can support, inspire, and expand creative work. We’ll explore tools and ideas connected to art-making, including laser cutting and engraving, 3D printing, electronics, artificial intelligence, and more.

At each meeting, we’ll start with a short talk about something new, then shift into an open discussion about using technology in art. That means this cohort is a great fit for people who want to learn, share ideas, ask questions, and think through possibilities together — whether you already make art, want to try something new, or are simply curious about where creativity and technology overlap.

This cohort is part of our Community Projects pathway and is designed to help members explore ideas in a collaborative, low-pressure format. It is less about perfection and more about discovery, experimentation, and conversation. In other words: bring your curiosity.

What to expect:

  • A short featured talk each meeting
  • Open discussion around technology in art
  • Ideas and examples using lasers, 3D printing, electronics, AI, and more
  • A welcoming space for beginners and experienced makers alike
  • Opportunities to connect creative ideas to future personal or community projects

Who it’s for:

  • Members interested in art, design, and creativity
  • Makers curious about using technology in artistic projects
  • Beginners who want an approachable entry point
  • Members who enjoy discussion, inspiration, and shared learning
